Montego Bay, St James (McKoy’s News) — Reggae singer Bugle made a heartfelt and commanding return to the Reggae Sumfest stage on Festival Night Two, thrilling fans at Catherine Hall, Montego Bay, after nearly a decade away from the event.
Bugle, known for his thought-provoking and spiritual anthems, took the stage shortly after midnight and delivered a tight 30-minute set filled with classics such as “Anointed”, “Thank You Jah”, “No Compatible”, and “Nuh Compatible”. His delivery reminded patrons why he remains one of the genre’s most respected voices.
The singer, who last performed at Sumfest nine years ago, moved the audience deeply when he paused mid-performance to reflect on the loss of his mother, urging everyone in attendance to cherish their loved ones while they’re still here.
“This one is for my mother,” Bugle declared emotionally. “Hold on to your mothers and love them, because you don’t know when it’s their time to go.”
Fans responded by waving phone lights and singing along passionately, creating one of the most memorable moments of the night.
His return followed strong performances from other roots-reggae acts, including I-Wayne and Pressure Busspipe, but Bugle’s set stood out for its spiritual energy, lyrical depth, and emotional connection with the audience.
Organisers of the festival praised Bugle’s professionalism and his ability to connect with the crowd in a way that felt authentic and timeless.
Reggae Sumfest continues to showcase the best of Jamaica’s music, and Bugle’s presence proved that great music and genuine connection never go out of style.
