MANCHESTER, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) — Police in Craighead, Manchester are probing what appears to be a case of suicide after the body of a farmer was found hanging from a tree on Tuesday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Orlando “Dussy” Murray, a farmer from Craighead.
Reports say that between 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m., residents discovered Murray’s body hanging from a pimento tree with a sheet tied around his neck and alerted authorities.
His uncle, Barrington Murray, said there were no obvious signs of depression. He described his nephew as a hardworking man but noted that he had recently suffered a “broken heart” after an intimate relationship ended.
Police investigations are ongoing.
