Farmer Fatally Shot in Confrontation with Police in Westmoreland

A 22-year-old Westmoreland farmer, identified as Richard Calbert from Mount Eagle District in Grange Hill, was fatally shot during a confrontation with the police in Grange Hill on Tuesday.

According to reports, officers were conducting an operation in the community when they encountered armed men.

During the exchange of gunfire, Calbert was shot. The police recovered a Glock 26 pistol with a magazine containing seventeen live 9mm cartridges from him.
