CLARENDON, Jamaica — Authorities are searching for escaped prisoner Marlo Headly, who is wanted after fleeing custody while receiving medical attention at a facility earlier this month.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) said Headly escaped on Saturday, September 5. He was in custody in connection with two separate murder charges in Clarendon, including the alleged killing of a female teacher and a cellmate.
Headly, whose last known address is Palmer’s Cross, is described as being of dark complexion and slim build. He is about 5 feet 9 inches tall and has slightly crossed eyes. Police believe he may also be suffering from a medical condition.
Since his escape, police have received reports that Headly was seen at various locations across the Clarendon policing division.
The JCF is warning members of the public not to approach him, as he should be considered dangerous.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact the Clarendon Police Operations Office at 876-886-4443, police emergency 119, Crime Stop at 311, or the nearest police station.
Headly is being urged to surrender peacefully, while relatives and associates are encouraged to persuade him to turn himself in.
The JCF also warned that knowingly assisting, sheltering or harbouring an escaped prisoner is a crime.
