Montego Bay, St. James: A prisoner who escaped from police custody earlier today was fatally shot during a confrontation with law enforcement officers in Valley Heights, St. James, this afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Edgar Spence, one of five inmates who broke out of the Barnett Street Lock-Up,
The circumstances surrounding the fatal encounter are currently under investigation.
Authorities are still actively searching for the four remaining escapees.
