Search Underway for Five Escaped Prisoners in St James

ST JAMES, Jamaica — Authorities have launched a search for five prisoners who escaped custody at the Barnett Street Police Station in St James early Saturday, December 14. The escape reportedly occurred between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m.

The escapees are:

• Edgar Spence, 42, charged with possession of a prohibited weapon.

• Tidel Ferguson, 36, charged with larceny of a motor vehicle.

• Tyrese Brown, 22, charged with murder and rape.

• Daniel McIntosh, 23, charged with possession of a prohibited weapon.

• Maurice Belnavis, 43, charged with simple larceny.

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is urging the public to assist in locating the fugitives and ensure their safe apprehension. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact police emergency at 119, Crime Stop at 311, or the nearest police station.

The JCF reassures the public of its commitment to safety as investigations continue.
