Delta Flight Crashes, Overturns While Landing at Toronto Pearson Airport

TORONTO, Canada – A Delta Air Lines flight from Minneapolis crashed and overturned while attempting to land at Toronto Pearson Airport on Monday afternoon, leaving at least nine people injured, including one critically.

Photos from the scene show Delta Flight 4819 on the tarmac belly-up, following the crash at approximately 2:45 p.m. local time, according to a statement from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). At the time, the airport was experiencing powerful wind gusts and drifting snow, which may have contributed to the incident.

All 80 people onboard were safely evacuated, FAA officials confirmed. However, nine individuals sustained injuries, including:

• One person in critical but non-life-threatening condition, who was airlifted to a trauma center.

• One pediatric patient, also in critical but non-life-threatening condition.

Paramedics from Peel Regional Paramedic Services responded swiftly to the scene, providing medical assistance to those affected.

Authorities have yet to determine the exact cause of the crash, but initial reports suggest adverse weather conditions may have played a role. The FAA and Canadian aviation authorities are expected to launch a full investigation into the incident.

Toronto Pearson Airport remains partially operational, with some flight disruptions expected as authorities clear the wreckage and assess safety protocols.
