A group of armed men executed a daring robbery at a supermarket in Spaulding, Clarendon, on Sunday, escaping with cash estimated at several million dollars and abducting two Chinese operators from the establishment.
Reports indicate that around 3:30 p.m., four men posing as customers entered the supermarket and held the Chinese operators at gunpoint.
The robbers demanded money and were handed a large, undetermined sum of cash. They then abducted two of the Chinese business operators, using them as hostages to facilitate their escape.
The incident was reported to the police, and following an investigation, the two Chinese nationals were found unharmed at a location in the Baillieston community, where they were released by the armed men.
The police are now conducting a search to locate the gunmen and recover the stolen cash.
