The Runaway Bay police in St. Ann are investigating the suspected suicide of a Canadian national at the Bahia Principe hotel in Runaway Bay on Sunday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as 56-year-old James Harrison-Pittan of Ontario, Canada.
According to police reports, at approximately 3:15 p.m., a member of the hotel’s maintenance staff discovered Harrison-Pittan’s body hanging from the ceiling in his room. The authorities were alerted, and officers processed the scene shortly after.
Investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. No foul play is suspected at this time, and police are awaiting further details from a post-mortem examination.
