Bamboo, St. Ann – A businessman was gunned down in the Hazelwood district of Bamboo, St. Ann, on Saturday night, leaving the community in shock.
The deceased has been identified as 51-year-old Garfield Evering, also known as “Dwayne,” a resident of Hazelwood Bamboo.
According to police reports, residents heard gunshots around 10 p.m. and alerted authorities. Upon arrival, officers discovered Evering’s body lying face down in the roadway with gunshot wounds to the head. Seven spent casings were recovered from the scene.
Investigators are working to determine a motive for the killing.
