Montego Bay, Jamaica – A 25-year-old British flight attendant for Virgin Atlantic was found dead in her hotel room in Montego Bay, Jamaica, on Tuesday, January 28. Authorities suspect that she took her own life.
The young woman, identified as Jasmine, had arrived in Jamaica on January 25 with colleagues and was staying at a hotel in the Rose Hall area of St. James Parish.
Reports indicate that she had spent Monday, January 27, by the hotel pool but complained of feeling unwell before retreating to her room.
Concerns arose when she was not seen the following day, and calls to her phone went unanswered. Her colleagues, along with hotel security, entered her room and discovered her hanging from the ceiling on the balcony. A note, allegedly written by Jasmine, was found inside, expressing distress over the recent end of a relationship.
Jasmine was described as a bright and accomplished young woman. She held a degree in Spanish and French from the University of Portsmouth and had earned multiple certifications in various fields, including cyber security and fraud awareness.
Local police have launched an investigation, but preliminary findings suggest no signs of foul play.
