Portland, Jamaica – The body of a Kingston man who went missing while swimming in the Rio Grande on Sunday has been recovered after an extensive two-day search.
The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old Christopher Harriott. Reports indicate that he was at a cookout with friends in Fellowship, Portland, when he encountered difficulties in the water and disappeared beneath the surface.
After relentless efforts by search teams, Harriott’s body was discovered around 9:00 a.m. today. Authorities removed the remains from the river and transported them to the morgue, where an autopsy will be conducted to confirm the cause of death.
The Portland police have launched an investigation into the incident, though initial reports suggest that Harriott may have drowned.
