A body believed to be that of 64-year-old Dawn Anderson, a Jamaica-born British woman who went missing shortly after arriving on the island last week, was discovered on Monday by residents of Roaring River, Westmoreland.
The remains were reportedly found buried near Anderson’s home, but police did not remove them on Monday night to avoid disturbing potential evidence.
“We didn’t want to disturb any evidence, so we have left a team at the location until tomorrow morning when the body will be exhumed,” a member of the Westmoreland police team confirmed.
Anderson’s disappearance followed a brief stay at a Montego Bay hotel with her 38-year-old husband, Angrea Morrison, who has also been reported as missing.
On Tuesday, Morrison allegedly contacted Anderson’s daughters in the United Kingdom, claiming that she vanished after he dropped her off at a beach park in Negril to meet a client. Morrison reportedly stated that she was gone when he returned to pick her up.
Anderson, known for selling clothing on the beaches of Negril, often appeared on Morrison’s TikTok page showcasing her goods.
Authorities are working to confirm the identity of the remains and are investigating the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and death.
