Gunman Fatally Shot in Kingston

Jamaica Crime News, Kingston: One man was shot and killed and an illegal firearm was taken from him during a confrontation with the police in Kingston on Saturday, April 21.

The dead gunman has been identified as 35-year-old Andre Mason “Kappa”, a barber of 17 Farham Road in Water House, Kingston 11.

Our news team learnt that, a team of police officers drove to a location in Olympic Garden on Saturday where the deceased was seen.

Upon the approach of the police, he reportedly pulled a firearm and opened fire on them.  The lawmen took evasive action and returned the fire during what time Mason was shot and killed.

A Taurus 9mm semi-automatic pistol loaded with several rounds was taken from him.

The accused gunman was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.
