20-Year-Old Arrested for Illegal Firearm

Jamaica Crime News, St Catherine: The Old Harbor Police have now taken a 20-year-old man into custody, following the seizure of an illegal firearm and several rounds of ammunition in the area on Sunday, April 22.

Investigators have pointed out that the name of the accused is being withheld pending further investigations.

Reports by the police are that about 12:55 p.m. on Sunday, a team of officers attached to the Old Harbor Police Station were carrying out patrols duties in the area.

On reaching the vicinity of the National Stadium, they saw the accused who was acting in a suspicious manner.  He was accosted, searched and found to be carrying the illegal firearm.

The lawmen seized a .380 semi-automatic pistol with a magazine containing  (five)  live .380 rounds.
