Patients Say Work On CRH Progressing Too Slow

Montego Bay, Jamaica (McKoy’s News)- Armed Robber Shot: An armed robber who along with another man attempted to rob a Chinese business in the busy streets of downtown Montego Bay, was shot and seriously injured by a security guard and the other robber held by an angry crowd and the police.

Reports are that about 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, the Chinese national who operates a business along Lower Market Street in downtown Montego Bay, was reportedly transporting cash to a neighboring bank which is close to his business place. He was ambushed by the two armed robbers who attempted to rob him. The businessman resisted and immediately raised an alarm. A security guard who was in the area challenged the gunmen who fired at him. The fire was returned and during the shootout one of the gunmen was shot and seriously injured. The other gunman then ran and several persons and a team of police officers who rushed to the scene gave chase. The robber was later cornered and taken into custody.

It is reported that an illegal firearm was taken from the wounded gunman. He was rushed to the Cornwall Regional Hospital where he was admitted in serious condition under police guard.
