Antigua (McN) – A Jamaican was arrested by Antigua police for allegedly presenting authorities in Antigua with a fake Jamaican security certificate.
This arrest has led to the Antigua Immigration requesting that Caribbean Community (CARICOM) implement integrate standardized skills certificates across the 15-member grouping, to improve arrangements within the CARICOM Single Market and Economy (CSME) which allow the free movement of skills, people, labour and services within the CARICOM states.
“We expect to see more of this happening, because we have been warned that there are a number of people throughout the region operating with fake skills certificates,” states Chief Immigration Officer for Antigua, Annette Mark, in speaking with the media.
