Since the start of the year, the Manchester police have been forced to step up security measures following the murder of 15 individuals across the parish.
The most recent victim has been identified as 53-year-old Carlton Lewis of Woodlawn Heights in George’s Heights, also in the parish.
Reports by the Mandeville police indicate that shortly after 8:00 PM, Lewis was walking along a section of the roadway when he was accosted by two armed men, who opened fire, hitting him multiple times.
The police were summoned, and upon arrival, Lewis was discovered lying in a pool of blood with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.
He was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, and the scene was processed.
