Westmoreland, Jamaica – June 3, 2025 — Just over 24 hours after a significant contraband bust along the shoreline in Whitehouse, police in Westmoreland have made yet another major discovery of illegal ammunition.
According to reports, between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, law enforcement personnel carried out an intelligence-driven operation targeting wanted men. During the search, officers stumbled upon a large cache of ammunition concealed among dense vegetation along a hilly terrain.
The discovery included:
- 501 rounds of 9mm ammunition
- 82 rounds of 5.56 ammunition
- 40 rounds of .38 ammunition
Despite the significant seizure, no arrests were made in connection with the find.
The operation forms part of a continued crackdown by the Counter-Terrorism and Organized Crime Investigation Branch (C-TOC) aimed at dismantling gun smuggling and trafficking networks operating across the island.
Police are urging members of the public with any information that could assist in the ongoing investigation to contact C-TOC at 876-967-1389, the National Intelligence Bureau at 811, Crime Stop at 311, or the nearest police station.
Authorities believe these back-to-back seizures may be linked to larger criminal operations and have vowed to intensify their efforts to track down those responsible.
