Kingston, Jamaica – June 3, 2025 — An 18-year-old man, wanted in connection with a recent murder and two separate shooting incidents, was shot and killed during a police operation in the Habitat Housing Scheme, Kingston 11, early Tuesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Omario Coleman, otherwise called “Dujon,” who was said to be affiliated with the Mahoe Drive/Niggers Lane gang.
According to the police, a team from the St Andrew South Division was conducting a targeted cordon-and-search operation around 5:00 a.m. in the Majesty Gardens community, specifically at premises on Majestic Pen Road known to be occupied by wanted men.
As officers approached the location, a pregnant woman and a child exited the dwelling. Moments later, a man armed with a firearm reportedly emerged from a closed door inside the house and pointed the weapon at the lawmen. One officer, fearing for his life, discharged three rounds from his M16 rifle, striking the suspect.
Coleman was found clutching a Taurus 9mm pistol loaded with five rounds. He was rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Police say Coleman was a person of interest in the May 2025 murder of 22-year-old hotel worker Jadee Clarke, also known as “Froggy,” from Maple View Road in Kingston 11. He was also wanted in connection with the April shooting of two men in Seaview Gardens, St Andrew.
Law enforcement officials believe Coleman’s death will have a positive impact on reducing gang-related violence and criminal activity in the area. Investigations are ongoing.
