In today’s episode:
- Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix are having a vegan baby and Page Six was the first to know!
- “Lip Service” host Angela Yee is keeping things juicy despite being stuck inside.
- And what’s up with celebrities mysteriously injuring themselves?
Here’s a closer look at some of today’s stories:
Being Angela Yee – in quarantine
“The Breakfast Club” co-host Angela Yee is working twice as hard during her time in self-isolation. She has her own podcast called “Lip Service,” hosts “Wealth Wednesdays” on Facebook Live and owns a juice bar in Bey-Stuy. But Yee told Maggie and Ian that these days she’s learning how to say “no” to certain opportunities.
“Sometimes you have to say, ‘I don’t have to do everything that comes my way.’ And I think sometimes people also just look at it like, ‘well, you’re at home not doing anything.’ No, this is not a vacation all. I’m still working. But every now and then, trust me, on Sundays, I really don’t do anything but kind of lay around and watch TV and you need to do that, too. I think we feel guilty, like we’re supposed to be coming out of this pandemic with a six-pack, a brand new book, a script and all of these things. And for a lot of us that’s not going to happen.”
What’s the difference is between the podcast [Lip Service] that you’re doing and what you do on the radio?
“It’s all women as hosts. And so for me, it’s just a different type of vibe. It’s like talking to your girlfriends as opposed to with Charlamagne and Envy, sometimes I feel outnumbered. I’m the only girl. So that was kind of the point of the podcast. When we interview guys, they feel outnumbered and that doesn’t normally happen in the business that I’m in. And it’s a lot looser too, being on the podcast. It is more about relationships and sex and whatever we want it to be about. It gets very spicy.”
Just how spicy is this podcast?
“Well, I just posted a clip of JoJo. She was just on. And she just put out a new project. And so she was just talking about how she had an experience where she slept with a fan. Well, it was a friend of hers, but he was also a fan. And he kept playing Usher’s “Superstar” during the whole experience. And it was really creepy.
We had Jidenna on and he was just telling about relationships and how he wouldn’t mind dating a woman who has sex and messes around with other guys as long as they stay within the confines of whatever rules they have. Or seeing other people. I mean, people get just as intuit as they want to get.”
Rooney Mara and Joaquin Phoenix are having their first baby
Joaquin Phoenix and Rooney Mara are expecting their first child together, a source exclusively confirmed to Page Six.
The private couple has been quarantining at their home in Los Angeles. The source tells us that Mara, who has recently been spotted wearing baggy clothes to cover her bump, may be as far as six months along in her pregnancy.
Reps for both Mara, 35, and Phoenix, 45, have refused to respond to numerous requests for comment from Page Six.
Kaia Gerber’s ‘little accident’
On Saturday, the 18-year-old model shared a bikini selfie while showing off her arm in a blue cast.
“Had a little accident but i’m okay!” Gerber captioned the post on Instagram.
In one shot, the daughter of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber is seen in front of a staircase wearing a cast covering part of her upper arm and wrist. The second image featured an X-ray showing a broken bone.
In a video posted Friday, Gerber revealed she had broken her wrist.
“I actually broke my wrist yesterday. I was in a little bit of an accident, thankfully, I am okay,” she said.
