Jamaica News, March 26, 2018 – Alleged Robber Shot and Killed

St Andrew, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – The St Andrew police say they are now asking members of the public for their assistance to identify a man who was shot and killed by a store owner, after he reportedly attempted to steal his motor vehicle which was parked outside his business establishment, along Ellesmere Drive in Half Way Tree, St Andrew on Friday, March 23.

Reports by the police are that shortly after 1:30 p.m., the business operators who is also a licensed firearm holder was inside his store when he noticed the unidentified man on his CCTV camera walking around his Toyota Hiace mini bus.

It is further reported that the unidentified man was also seen forcefully opening the door to the vehicle and entering it. The businessman quietly went to the outside and confront the robber who reportedly launched an attack on him.  The police further stated that the businessman pulled his licensed firearm and fired several shots at the advancing robber, hitting him to his upper body.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, the unidentified robber was transported to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
