Jamaica News, March 26, 2018 – St Andrew Police Arrested Alleged Gunman                       

St Andrew, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – One man is now in police custody and an illegal firearm along with several rounds of ammunition seized, during an incident which occurred at a section of York Avenue in St Andrew, on Saturday morning, March 24.

The police have not yet released the name of the accused as he may have to face an identification parade.

The Hunts Bay police reported that shortly after 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, they responded to a call that a domestic dispute was taking place between two men at a premises in York Avenue.

On reaching the area, one man informed the lawmen that he was being threatened by the accused who was also standing at the location.  The accused was approached by the police and he ran while throwing away an object.

The lawmen gave chase and managed to apprehend the accused.  He was brought back to the location and the object retrieved.  It was discovered to be a Customs Kimber .45 handgun along with two magazines, loaded with 14 live rounds.

The man was arrested and the firearm seized.
