72-Year-Old Man Killed While Returning from His Brother’s Nine-Night in St. James

A man was shot and killed at his home in Mocho District, St. James, on Sunday morning while returning from his brother’s Nine-Night.

He has been identified as 72-year-old Neville Holness, a farmer of Mocho District in the parish.

Reports indicate that Holness was just returning home from a Nine-Night, which was held on Saturday night for his younger brother who died over a week ago.

He returned home around 6:00 am and was ambushed and shot multiple times on his verandah.

Residents in the community who heard the gunshots went to his house and found him lying in a pool of blood with multiple gunshot wounds.

The police were summoned and upon arrival, discovered Holness lying face down in a pool of blood with multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
