An elderly man lost his life in a house fire in Spot Valley, St James on Tuesday night,
The victim has been identified as 70-year-old Roy Scott.
According to reports, around 9:35 pm, onlookers observed flames emerging from the residence, prompting the immediate alert of the fire brigade. A unit from the Ironshore station swiftly responded to the scene to combat the blaze.
During the cooling-down operations, responders discovered the lifeless body of Roy Scott beneath what seemed to be the charred remnants of a mattress.
Authorities have initiated an investigation into the incident.
