The Sandy Bay police in Hanover have arrested and charged a 68-year-old man who reportedly chopped a 15-year-old boy almost to death during a dispute in the community on Monday.
The suspect has been identified as Igal Street, otherwise called ‘Border,’ of a Montpellier address in Sandy Bay, Hanover.
Reports indicate that on Monday afternoon, Street and the youth were involved in an argument in the Montpellier community when Street reportedly used a machete to chop the boy on a section of his face.
The victim was rushed to the Noel Holmes Hospital in Lucea, where he was treated and admitted in serious condition.
A report was later made to the Sandy Bay police, and following an investigation, Street was arrested and charged.
