A 61-year-old farmer, Michael “Mickey” Lumley, was shot and killed on Monday night while visiting his girlfriend in Iterboreale, Annotto Bay, St. Mary.
According to reports, around 7:15 p.m., a silver Toyota Axio pulled up at the gate while Lumley was sitting in the yard. Two men exited the vehicle, approached him, and opened fire, hitting him. The gunmen then fled the scene in the waiting car.
Lumley was transported to the Annotto Bay Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No one else was injured in the attack.
Authorities believe the murder is connected to gang violence in the area. Investigations are ongoing.
