The Portland police have launched a probe into the arrival of 37 Haitian national into the island, on Monday, July 10.
The illegal immigrants which consist of 24-men, 5-women, and 8 children, arrived by boat at the Boston Beach in Portland.
Reports are that the vessel arrived at approximately 1:40pm, from Jeremie in Haiti, close to two weeks ago.
They were assisted ashore and the authorities summoned, and the group placed in state custody.
