2,000 Pounds of Suspected Stolen Meat Seized in St. James — Two in Custody

ST. JAMES, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News) — Two men are in police custody after 2,000 pounds of suspected stolen meat, including beef and pork, were found during a raid in Lilliput on Friday afternoon.

The operation, carried out by Area One police, the Agricultural Protection Branch (APB), and the St. James Health Department, uncovered the meat stored in a freezer on the premises.

According to Acting ACP Oral Pascoe, the meat had no inspection stamps and is believed to be the result of praedial larceny.

“This meat wasn’t processed through a slaughterhouse — it’s a health risk and a crime scene in a freezer,” said Pascoe.

The APB head also warned that stolen livestock supports gang activity, and vowed to keep targeting illegal meat distributors across the island.

Investigations are ongoing, and charges are pending
