A 13-year-old boy is now in police custody after a deadly altercation in St. Mary on Friday, March 20, 2026.
Law enforcement officials report that the incident occurred in the community of Belfield Works, where a dispute between the teenager and a 21-year-old man escalated into violence. The identity of the deceased has not been disclosed by the authorities.
According to preliminary reports, the confrontation began around 9:45 a.m. and developed into a physical fight. During the altercation, the teen allegedly used a pair of scissors to stab the older man. The injured individual was transported to hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Investigators have since taken the minor into custody and recovered the weapon believed to have been used in the attack.
