KINGSTON, Jamaica — A 13-year-old girl was fatally stabbed on Thursday evening following an altercation involving two other female students in St James.
The deceased has been identified as Jessina Pearce of McKenzie Drive, Flanker, St James.
According to police, the incident occurred about 6:55 p.m. when Pearce became involved in an argument with two other girls.
The dispute reportedly escalated, and the two girls allegedly stabbed Pearce.
She was rushed to hospital for treatment but later succumbed to her injuries.
Police said one of the girls involved has been taken into custody as investigations continue.
