St Andrew, Jamaica – A 12-year-old boy lost his life and his mother sustained gunshot injuries during a chilling ambush at the Lindsay Crescent and Dunrobin Avenue stoplight in St Andrew on Friday morning.
According to police reports, the incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. as the mother, driving her Mercedes Benz with her two sons onboard, stopped at the traffic light. It was at this moment that men on a motorcycle reportedly approached the vehicle and opened fire.
The critically injured child and his mother were rushed to the hospital, where the boy succumbed to his injuries. The mother is currently undergoing treatment, while the second son, an adult, was reportedly unharmed in the attack.
Detectives assigned to the St Andrew North Criminal Investigation Branch have launched an intensive investigation, scouring the area for evidence to identify the perpetrators.
