Kingston, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – The long arm of the law has finally caught up with 29-year-old Yashoy Clarke, otherwise called “Yashii-Poo”, who has now been formally charged in connection with the brutal 2024 murder of 16-year-old Bianca Thompson during a home invasion in Kingston 5.
Clarke, of Lincoln Crescent, is facing multiple charges, including:
- Murder
- Shooting with intent
- Possession of a prohibited weapon
- Unauthorised possession of ammunition
- Using a firearm to commit a felony
The killing occurred on the night of February 25, 2024, when young Bianca Thompson, of Albion Avenue, was at home around 11:22 p.m. when Clarke and three other armed men reportedly stormed into the house and opened fire, hitting the teen in the upper body.
The gunmen escaped, and Bianca was rushed to hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Police launched an intense investigation which eventually led to Clarke’s arrest. A court date is being finalized.
Another man, 23-year-old Taje Squire, was charged just days after the attack with similar offences: murder, shooting with intent, illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, and using a firearm to commit a felony.
Clarke was one of three men listed as wanted at the time in relation to Bianca’s killing.
The Denham Town police continue to investigate, and more arrests could be on the horizon as the hunt for the remaining suspects continues
