Police in the Kingston Central Division are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying a woman whose body was recovered from the Kingston Harbour on Tuesday morning.
The discovery was made near the Bank of Jamaica shortly before 9:00 a.m. on May 5, after a man travelling by boat reportedly spotted the body floating in the water and alerted authorities.
Investigators say the deceased is believed to be in her late 30s. She is described as being about 5 feet 4 inches tall, of dark complexion and medium build, with short black hair. Police also noted that she has a tattoo of a heart with wings on her back.
Following the report, lawmen responded to the scene and removed the body from the harbour. The woman was transported to hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her remains were later taken to the morgue pending a post-mortem examination.
