ST JAMES, Jamaica — Police in St James have launched an investigation following the fatal shooting of a woman early Saturday morning at People’s Arcade.
According to reports, the woman had driven a Toyota Voxy bus into the arcade shortly after 6:30 a.m. and had exited the vehicle when she was attacked by a gunman.
Investigators say the female victim had reportedly gone to the location to collect a cart used for selling soup when the lone male assailant approached and opened fire.
The woman, whose identity has not yet been confirmed, died at the scene.
Law enforcement personnel were alerted shortly after the incident, and crime scene investigators have since commenced a probe into the killing.
