A woman was shot dead, and five others injured, after gunmen opened fire on a group of people at a shop in Cassava Piece, St. Andrew, on Wednesday night.
Reports are that around 7:30 p.m., several individuals were gathered at a shop in a lane within the community when gunmen alighted from a vehicle and opened fire on the group. After unleashing a barrage of bullets, the assailants quickly fled the scene.
Six people were found suffering from gunshot wounds and were taken to the hospital, where a female shopkeeper was pronounced dead. The other five victims are receiving medical treatment.
Authorities have begun an investigation, but no arrests have been made. Police are urging anyone with information to come forward to assist in apprehending the suspects responsible for this deadly attack.
