The Whitehouse police in Westmoreland are investigating the circumstances surrounding the stabbing death of a popular car wash operator in Roe-Town, Whitehouse, on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Simario Smith, also known as ‘Maro’, a car wash operator from Gordon District, Whitehouse, Westmoreland.
Reports indicate that shortly after 12:00 p.m., Smith was at his business establishment when he got into an argument with another 27-year-old man, allegedly over money to purchase rum.
The altercation escalated, and Smith was stabbed multiple times by the other man, who reportedly chased him around the compound during the attack.
The police were summoned, and upon arrival, Smith was rushed to the Black River Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The accused man was taken into police custody.
