Westmoreland, Jamaica — A 40-year-old woman from Westmoreland has been charged with wounding with intent after allegedly attacking her neighbor with a machete during a dispute over a shared water pipe.
The accused, Kerry-Ann Clarke of Bastard Cedar Walk in Petersfield, was formally charged on Sunday following the incident, which occurred on March 19.
According to reports from the Whithorn Police, the altercation took place around 3:30 p.m. when Clarke and her neighbor became embroiled in an argument over access to a shared water pipe.
The confrontation reportedly escalated into violence, with Clarke allegedly using a machete to inflict multiple wounds on the man, resulting in severe bleeding.
Residents quickly intervened and rushed the injured man to the hospital, where he was admitted for treatment. Following his recovery, the man provided a statement to the police, identifying Clarke as his attacker.
Clarke was subsequently arrested and charged with wounding with intent. Investigations into the incident are ongoing as authorities prepare for her court appearance.
