Westmoreland, Jamaica (Mckoys News)- Westmoreland Vendors Shot: Over the past three days, from Monday November 6, to Wednesday, November 8, two street vendors have been shot and killed while another shot and seriously injured in the parish of Westmoreland.

Several vendors claim they are being targeted by armed gang members and are now seeking the intervention of the police.

Westmoreland Vendors Shot: These allegations came in the wake of two vendors being shot and killed, and a third shot and injured, within the past three days.

The latest victim, who is now at hospital in critical condition, was shot and injured by a teenager on a bicycle on Wednesday night.

The police have reported that at about 9:00 pm on Wednesday,  the vendor was standing beside his stall on Hudson Street in  Savanna-la-mar, close to where another vendor, Kevon Lewis, 25 years old of Hudson Street was shot and killed that  morning.

It is further reported that a young boy rode up on a bicycle, and brandished a handgun which he use to shoot the vendor several times on his upper body.

The shooter then jumped from the bicycle and escaped in the area on foot.

Previously, before those two shootings, on Monday night, another street vendor was slain by gunmen in Savanna-la-mar, and the police are now saying they believe that all these killings are gang related.

The vendors say they are calling on the police to come up with some sort of crime fighting plan that will ensure their safety while selling on the streets.
