Service Station Murder: Man Shot Dead as He Boarded Taxi

Westmoreland, Jamaica (Mckoy’s News)Service Station Murder: the police in the parish of Westmoreland say they are now in search of two men in connection with the shooting death of a Service Station attendants in the parish on Wednesday morning.

The victim has been identified as Orlando Smith, 26-year-old of Amity District also in Westmoreland.

It is reported that about 5:30 am on Wednesday morning January 24, Smith and one of his Co-worker was in the process of boarding a taxi motor car to work in Amity District when two men approached them and brandished handguns.

The gunmen opened fire at Smith and the other man and during the gunfire, the driver of the taxi started to drive away.  The other man managed to jump in the car but Smith who was not swift enough was shot several times to his upper body. The taxi driver sped away and alerted the Sav la mar police.

The police drove to the location and upon arrival Smith was discovered lying in a pool of blood with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.

He was transported to the Sav la mar hospital where he was pronounced dead.
