The Westmoreland police have arrested a man wanted for murder and seized a firearm during a targeted operation in Petersville on Sunday.
The suspect, identified as 42-year-old Dwight Williams, otherwise called “Cheeky”, of Gordon District in Whitehouse, was taken into custody.
Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar police indicate that around 8:35 a.m., officers approached a location in Petersville where Williams was seen sitting outside with a bag in his lap. Upon confronting him, the police conducted a search of the bag and reportedly discovered a firearm inside.
Williams was immediately taken into custody, and investigations are ongoing.
