Westmoreland, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Westmoreland Motorcyclist and Pillion Electrocuted: A teenager and another man, both of Westmoreland addresses are now dead following a misadventure on Tuesday where they were both electrocuted by a Jamaica Public Service power line.

Dead are 19-year-old Renaldo Johnson, Store attendant and 21-year-old Oshane Powell, unemployed of West Land Mountain also in Negril.

Reports are that about 11:00 am on Tuesday, December 12, both men were traveling on a motorcycle along the roadway in West End Negril when they noticed sparks coming from the high tension wire on the JPS utility pole.

It is further reported that both men stopped and were watching the sparks on the power line when it snapped and fell on them.

Both men were electrocuted, they were removed from the scene and rushed to the Savanna-la-mar Hospital after JPS workmen came to the area and removed the broken power line. The men were later pronounced dead at hospital.
