Westmoreland, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Westmoreland Men Murdered Hours Apart: Two men were shot and killed by gunmen just hours apart on Saturday, January 20, in the parish of Westmoreland and the police have now indicated that they have since beefed up security at a number of hot spots and volatile communities around the parish.
Those killed have been identified as 49-year-old Tellies Humes, labourer of Mayzemuir District in Little London and 57-year-old Adrian Williams, Electrical Technician of Sheffield also in Westmoreland.
Police have reported that shortly after 11:20 a.m. on Saturday, Humes was riding his bicycle along a section of the little London main road when he was attacked by a man armed with a handgun who shot him several times and left him for dead.
The Little London police were summoned and upon arrival, he was transported to the Savanna-la-mar hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Later on Saturday night, about 7:30 p.m. Williams was involved in a long-standing dispute with two men in Sheffield, one of the men drew a handgun and shot Williams several times to his upper body.
The Negril police were summoned and upon arrival, he too was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Since the Start of the year, a total of 9 persons have been reported murdered in the parish of Westmoreland and these two latest incidents have forced the police to deploy extra security on the streets.
