Westmoreland, Jamaica (McKoy’s News) – Police Seeks Westmoreland Man: The Westmoreland police say they are now carrying out searches for a man who they believe can assist them in their investigations into the shooting death of another man in the parish on Saturday evening.

The dead man has been identified as 27-year-old Devon Brown, otherwise called Sanchez of Darling Street also in Westmoreland.

Reports by the police are that shortly after 6:30 p.m.  on Saturday,  Brown was reportedly at a bar in Strathbogie District when an argument developed between himself and the other man.

It is further reported that Brown brandished a handgun from his waistband and both men got involved in a tussle.  During the tussle, the firearm went off and Brown was shot to his upper body.

The police were immediately called in and upon arrival, the wounded man was transported to the Savanna-la-mar Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Our news team was not informed if the firearm was handed over to the police.
