Westmoreland, Jamaica (McKoy’s News)- WESTMORELAND MASSIVE GANJA BUST: On Wednesday, September 20, 2017, the Narcotics Police seized ganja weighing over 750 pounds in White House, Westmoreland. Police reports are that between the hours of 8:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. officers attached to the Area One Narcotics Division carried out an anti-drug operation in areas of White House in Westmoreland.
The operation led the officers to premises where two dwelling houses and their surroundings were searched. Thirty-one (31) large knitted bags which contained over 211 large packages of compressed ganja, were discovered hidden on one of the open lots across from one of the premises.
The drugs were removed and transported to the Narcotics Division Headquarters at Area One. The ganja is said to weigh approximately 757 pounds and has a street value of 3.5M Jamaican dollars.
Following the seizure, investigations were carried out and during the process, three persons were taken into custody for questioning in connection with this massive seizure.
