MANCHESTER, Jamaica — A man who was on the run for murder has turned himself in to authorities in Manchester.
Alando ‘Platinum’ Gray, who was wanted in connection with a murder investigation in the St Catherine South police division, surrendered to the Manchester police on Thursday morning.
According to Acting Commanding Officer for the Manchester division, Deputy Superintendent Luhas Daniels, Gray was among the individuals featured on the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s (JCF) Wanted Wednesdays social media campaign. He had been listed as a person of interest in an ongoing homicide case.
“He handed over himself in the presence of his pastor and father at the Mandeville police station,” said DSP Daniels.
Authorities have not released details regarding the murder for which Gray is wanted. Investigators from St Catherine South are expected to take over the case as the legal process continues.
The JCF has repeatedly urged individuals who are wanted or know of fugitives to come forward peacefully and assist in the pursuit of justice.
