Violet Tourers defeated Copper Lions 4-2

Jamaica Sports News: Violet Tourers have to come from behind to defeated Copper Lions 4-2 in their friendly Masters over 40 match at the Wes Pow Park on Sunday, May 26.

Copper Lion race into an early 2-0 lead in the first 15 minutes of the game as Junior “Weng Weng” Roberts scored both goals. In the early segment of this game, it looked like the Lions were hell-bent on swamping the Violet Tourers team, but poor finishing on the part of the Copper Lions forward kept the score still at 2-0 for the first 30 minutes of the game.

Late in the first half, Maxwell Mckenzie pulled back one to make the score 2-1 going into the second half. George Evans then equalized and an own goal by a Copper Lions player put Violet Tourers into a 3-1 lead. James Welch continued with his good form by adding another for the Tourers to make the final score 4-2. Brian Miller and George Evans both in the age sixty group were outstanding for the Violet Tourers team.
