Video: Stevaughn Whynter Shot to Death in Anchovy, St James

Latest Jamaica News, St James: One man was shot and killed, and another man shot and injured, as gunmen struck in broad daylight in Anchovy, St James, this morning, Wednesday, July 10.

The dead man has been identified as 25-year-old Stevaughn Whynter, labourer of Anchovy Meadows, also in Anchovy.

Reports by the police are that about 8:45 a.m., Whynter was walking along a section of the Anchovy main road, in the vicinity of the Anchovy service station, when he was ambushed by two armed men.

The men opened fire hitting Whynter over eight times to his upper body, before making their escape in a waiting motor car. During the shooting, the driver of a Noah bus stopped to pick up passengers, and one male passenger traveling on board the vehicle was hit by a stray bullet.

The police were summoned and upon their arrival, Whynter and the other victim were transported to the Cornwall Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, and the other man admitted in serious condition.
