Veteran Jamaican broadcaster Dervan Malcolm has died after a brief illness.
Malcolm, whose broadcasting career spanned more than 30 years, died yesterday.
He was best known for his long association with Power 106 FM, where he became one of the station’s most recognisable voices. During his decades at the station, Malcolm served in several capacities, including news presenter, talk-show host, producer and presenter.
He was also the longstanding host of Power 106 FM’s current affairs programme “Both Sides of the Story”, a role he held before stepping down in recent years.
Malcolm’s death marks the loss of a respected and familiar voice in Jamaican broadcasting.
