August Town Don Killed: The Kingston police are reporting that a man who is alleged to be a don in the August Town area was fatally shot during a confrontation with the police on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified so far only as Marvin Markland, otherwise called ‘Papa’, also of an August Town address.
Reports are that a team of officers was on operation in a section of the community when they were allegedly fired upon by armed men.
The fire was returned, and after the shooting subsided, Markland was discovered suffering from gunshot wounds.
He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
It is not yet known if an illegal firearm was taken from him.
